2:45 pm Wake Island, Pacific Ocean

It was late afternoon when Jolmer landed on the beach. He had just finished a quick lunch, his Tiffin can held the requisite calories for a soldier. With his sniper rifle with him at all times, Jolmer checked the map. The situation revealed that except the South base and the Airfield, the rest was taken over by the US (Allies). He felt better knowing the situation at hand. After landing on the beach, he started to make his way to the Airfield. But the Japanese moved fast. The Beach came under attack and was under siege, and within a few minutes was taken over by the Axis.

He went to the Ammo room / Medical cabinet room at the Airfield and waited silently. Bombs were literally being dropped on the airfield by Japanese aircraft. Jolmer heard a loud shout from one of his teammates. A guy got killed. He felt a bit reluctant to go outside, and he was sure that the bomb coverage would be faster than he could possibly run.
At the same time, on the airfield, there was Baker reloading his gun. Just then “Bang” , a big sound was heard. An enemy jeep just blew up due to a mine placed by Jolmer.

On hearing the sound and the seeing the sight, Baker felt even more enthusiastic to kill more enemy soldiers. He spotted an aircraft on the runway. It was an American war plane. Baker decided to take it and do the same justice of bombing, which the Japs did to his mates and the field. The aircraft health indicator showed near fifty percent , but Baker decided to fight his teeth out. He taxied quickly and took off. He flew low over the airfield and the North base. He could see from his ‘war- map’ that the South base was taken over by the Axis. He banked to the left,
and flew the plane over the south base.
Exactly above the South base, Baker ejected. He was lucky that there was no Jap soldier at that point. He landed(parachuted) near a plane that was unoccupied. He was about to take over the South base when he saw a tank and three enemy soldier rushing towards the South base at full speed. “They must have come from the Beach”, Jolmer thought. Fighting a tank and three Jap assault soldiers would be deadly.
Without any delay, Baker jumped into the airplane and the plane roared to a takeoff. In the air, he studied his country’s position. The South base, the Village and the Beach, were taken by the Axis.
“Only two more bases of ours left”, he thought. A very few of his team mates went on with the battle.

From the air, he could see a Jap tank blow a jeep off the road, and Baker felt bad that his team was losing. The Japs were really fast, in terms of team coordination also. He flew very low over the airfield and dropped a few bombs. Baker checked his map. He saw to his shock that all the Bases, or control points were taken by the Japanese. The Allies’s score started dropping rapidly. Baker heaved a deep sigh. His team had lost this battle. Baker had no option left. He turned and flew the other way, from the island, he vowed to himself that he would return again.

Yea., it is wartime ;--++--

Time : 1:35 pm, Wake Island , Pacific Ocean

Mirahata stood on the main deck of the aircraft carrier and stretched his arms. It was a long and tiring battle. Being in the army meant real tough work, and good physical health is always a prerequisite. The Allies had occupied almost all the bases except the village. On seeing the map, Mirahata could sense his country's current position in the battle , and decided to swing back into action. The score was : Allies: 405, Axis : 485.

An aircraft was parked a few yards from him. He decided to fly it. All the soldiers of the different classes of both the Allies and Axis have been provided with mandatory pilot training The plane rolled till the end of the deck and took off. A smaller ship was sailing near the 'Village'. A few scouts on the main deck were scanning the shore.

He flew the plane near the Landing beach and dropped a few bombs. "KRAAM!". An AA gunner on the ground was finished. Mirahata then flew around the airfield a few times and then near the flag, and then bailed out. By then, the Axis had taken over the Airfield. He placed a few mines near potential areas. But the Beach was under siege. He spotted an aircraft on the runway.

A Scout in a jeep drove fast and took the plane. Mirahata ran just in time to be the gunner.

By now, the smaller ship which was near the Village had come close to the Landing Beach. The plane flew near this ship, Mirahata bailed out. He landed o

n deck, took a few deep breaths and though " I must get some base!" .

An intense battle was going on at the South base. Mirahata jumped into a boat and sped towards the beach. The South base was now taken by Axis. He saw a vehicle parked there and took a jeep to the beach. He stayed there for a few minutes taking in the ocean air. Then the Jap flag was hoisted o the Landing beach. Mirahata felt a sense of satisfaction now.

About a dozen Jap soldiers rushed towards the airfield, Mirahata went with them , the airfield was taken. Mirahata checked his country's status on the map. The bases of the North ware taken, and so were the bases at the South. All the Control points, were taken over by the Japs. But Mirahata was aware of the US soldiers who were alive.

He took few mines and went near the entrance. When he placed a few of them, he checked the score. The Allies' score went dropping like a stone in water. It went till 53, and then rapidly declined to zero. Mirahata smiled. The Japanese had won.

Final step b4 the action...

A little bit more.,.,

Dear friend, welcome again. Well about me, I’ve written in the first post. To keep it short, I’m an avid Pc game fan. In the previous post, I have written about the interesting characters that form the two teams (Allies and Axis).(Battlefield 1942 multilplayer). These characters are sure to give you entertainment and reading fun.

The post might contain a single character or many different classes. That is, you might either see a scout through the entire game or there may be a scout, a medic and an engineer (for example) trying to get through the enemy. For more action thrills, you might soldiers of two classes going ahead together. This adds excitement to the game play. Some posts might not start from Zero, and the post will describe the game from the current score (That is, at that point of time when I entered a particular server). Spawn point is the point from where the soldier spawns again. The game score will be revealed at periodic intervals.

So, I wish to take you into the action straight away, so buckle your belts, grab a can of potato chips and yes, I want you to enjoy my posts. Thanks, bye.

Members of the Allies..

Hello friend. Welcome to my blog. I am sure you might have read my previous posts. Well please do read them if you are new here, as it will be adding to the excitement of the virtual battle which I am going to recount to you.

Yes, now I am introducing you to the members of the classes of the US Army(Allies)

Sam the Scout: Sam joined the Army right after high school. He was more of a sportsman and athlete than an intellectually inclined young man. He likes outdoor life, bird watching and safaris when he is away from the army during leave. He finished small certificate courses after high school and enrolled for the army. The Army has supported his desire to study distance education in Rifle and weapons technology. On the field, Sam is a very good marksman with a 6/six eyesight. He is also a good tree climber and can sometimes be spotted on the rooftops of houses with his binoculars.

Baker the Assault Soldier: Baker joined the Army half way through college. There was an immediate requirement of Active assault soldiers at the beginning of the war period and Baker was selected based on his performance. He is a quick learner and always takes the enemy head on. He also won boxing matches back home. Baker is also very good at knife combat. He just barges into enemies when he finds the right chance, and also he is adept at leading his team to the required positions. Regarding his education, he is waiting to finish it if he comes back home safe.

Johan the Medic: Now let’s meet Johan the Medic. Johan has become a certified Medical practitioner and is currently serving for the United States Army. Johan used to watch a lot of war films back home, when he was a kid. He soon become known for his capability to administer sound medical treatment after his medical studies. The Army is glad to have a capable medical man who is always ready to help his team mates in necessity. And yes, Johan also loves music when he finds free time.

Hozmann the Anti-Tank: Hozmann is a German by birth. Hozmann’ s family had settled in the United States for many years. In Hozmann’s house, his father had an old souvenir of a Panzerschrek given to him by his Great Grandfather. Hozmann was very fascinated by the war item and he would mimic using it, when playing with friends. During his teen years, he would oil and polish the Panzerschrek and keep it in a maintained condition. His father now looks after the once used weapon. After college, Hozmann trained in the Bazooka(similar to Panzerschrek) seriously at a training base in Florida and is a very efficient Anti – Tanksman. He is well known for his skill of distance-anticipation , weight and wind speed assumptions. You’ll read about this man too, do look out for this ‘Panzer destroying officer’.

Jolmer the engineer : Jolmer has studied mechanical engineering and since it is wartime, he decided to put his learning to practical use as soon as he could. He likes the Army and never fears even the heaviest of gunfire. He can be spotted on some remote mound repairing a vehicle for his teammates. Well, it is told that he is relatively quick in repairing vehicles when compared with other engineers of his cadre. Jolmer is good at strategically placing mines so as to render the oncoming enemy useless. He is constantly updating his skill with Exp packs. He is also very attached to his tools and carries them whenever he goes to Army meetings and Officers’ meetings, back at base.

So that was about the soldiers of the Allies team.

(Note : The characters are merely fictious, I have created them for the purpose of entertainment and they do not bear any resemblance to any names in the real world. Kindly let me know about my idea also, also mine is a genuine one and any copying or related stuff done by others will lead to jurisdiction).

The characters...

Hi again. If you are reading this blog, please do read the previous ones, where I have given a small into to Battlefield 1942 multiplayer (The Wake Island map). Another thing which I want to mention is the use of ‘Radio Operations’ during game play. I’ll cover this later, as I am sure you will be feeling like going into the action straightaway.
Okay then, in the coming battle scenario, I will be describing the battle as seen from the eyes of the virtual soldiers themselves. That is, the Japanese and American soldiers (are going to tell their stories to you in their voice). These characters are sure to make your read more interesting.

Let me introduce you to the soldiers of the Japanese Army (Axis) :
1. The Scout : Yoshi is currently a Jap scout. Yoshi hails from a small village in Japan called Kamaishi. After a brief stint at schooling, he decided to go into adventure trails. He is more of an observer and loves bird watching the most(when he gets free time). He is also very patriotic and had always wanted to join the army. Yohsi has very good eyesight when compared to other members of him team. This made him and makes him perfect for the ‘Scout’ role in the Imperial Army. Yoshi can be spotted in …. Well, do read the blogs to find out more about him.

2. Kazunii the Assault Soldier: Kazunii has undergone five years of rigorous training at a Japanese base, back at Japan. He is a total fighter, that is, once he steps on enemy soil, he is packed with exceptional stamina to defeat his enemy. He is a man of about 5 foot four but is wiry and strong. He has managed to win many combat competitions at his base back at home. He is also very good at knife fight. The way he tackles the enemy with nothing but a knife is something that has to be noticed and appreciated. Do watch out for this soldier’s episode in the coming blogs.

3. Mizou the Medic: Okay , now let me introduce Mizou to you. Mizou has completed his life science degree at Tokyo. After this, he decided to enlist in the army to serve his fellowmates and yes, obviously his country. Mizou is a tall man with soft features and is always there when any of his fellowmates cries homesick. Back home, Mizou attends medical conferences and was also working part time as a College Medic, before being sent to the battle front. He has three children.

4. Zenshu the Antitank man: Well, about Zenshu, since childhood, he loved to blow up any cardboard box. This became up obsession, was noted by his father, and was duly placed in the Japanese Army. Zenshu had his schooling near the Jap city of Kyoto , where his actions were made disciplined. This man is small of height but is extremely witty when it comes to dealing with the enemy, he can blow an enemy tank in seconds, making the task look like easy for the onlooker. He has very sound anticipation and judgement.

5. Mirahata the Engineer: Now, we have Mirahata the Engineer. This young man is a mechanical engineer by study, but due to the pressure on him by his relatives and siblings, he has decided to join the army, in fact, he is ready to serve. Mirahata can be seen repairing vehicles, in the midst of heavy gunfire, without minding for his own life. He is also skilled in placing and detonating Exp packs. Do look out, you are bound to have fun with an engineer in the midst of heavy battle.

In the coming blog, I will be introducing you to the members of the US Army (Allies). So, I urge you to head on as by knowing these characters, I am sure you will forget time while reading my blogs to come.

moving on..

||||||| Welcome again. Continuing from the previous blog, we now come to the various weapons used in the game. (I wish to state again that knowing these things used in the game will help you play the Game easily and that u'll also have fun when going through my blogs. :)

In this map, you have a choice of choosing from any of the following five classes:

1. Active scouts ,

2. Active Assault

3. Anti-Tank,

4. Active Medic and

5. Engineer.

(Weapons available with the AXIS)

Battlefield 1942 is not just a shoot them up kind of game, It also houses tact, teamplay , sniping and other capacities, which the player can use to his advantage.

Before selecting a point to spawn, choose the type of weapon you want and then choose the location where you would like to start playing again The two pictures are the actual snapshots of the weapons that you will be getting in the game. The menus have been precisely designed, that is, there is a difference in the weapons used by the actual teams.

You get to play either as a Scout, Assault soldier, Anti tank man, Medic or Engineer. The functionality of these various classes varies, in order to relish the game in its entirety, for this map, a brief understanding of the weapons used, would be a good idea.

1. Active Scouts: The Active scout carries a sniper rifle, a binocular, knife, a Colt .45 pistol, and three Grenades. The Sniper rifle is very useful if you want to snipe someone at a distance. The binocular helps the scout to see far of objects and this can be quite an advantage as he can keep his team informed about the enemy’s presence. The Colt .45 is useful only in close combat.

2. Active Assault: In Active Assault, the soldier is given an assault rifle or a machine gun. The Bar1918 gun is widely chosen, many players go for this class. This assault gun is good at attacking the enemy, in the sense that it has the capacity to bring down enemy soldiers, vehicles and aircraft, excepting tanks. The Assault class is also provided with a Colt .45 pistol, a knife, and three grenades. In the case of a Jap assault, the gun is a Stg 44.

3. Anti Tank: In active Tank the soldier carries the following: A Panzerschrek or a Bazooka, a knife, a Colt.45 pistol and three grenades. The Bazooka is used to effectively bring down Tanks and aircraft, but only if fired with accuracy. It does take some time to get used to the Bazooka.

the grenade can also be sometimes effective against tanks, but that again depends on the strength of the weapon which you set in the mod.

4. Active Medic: The Medic plays an important role; he carries a medical kit, A Thompson submachine gun, three grenades, a knife and a Colt.45pistol. The Medical kit can be used to heal him and his team mates. The Thompson gun is not as effective as the Assault gun bit it can be more precise and at close range is effective only against enemy soldiers. A Jap medic carries a Submachine gun which is more precise and effective against enemy soldiers.

5. Engineer: The Engineer has the capability to repair tanks, vehicles and aircraft. He is supplied with a wrench, mines, Exp packs, a rifle, and a Colt .45 pistol. By placing mines, the engineer can drastically reduce enemy attack. Although this class is sometimes overlooked, the engineer’s presence is required when a vehicles repair needs to be done during crucial game play.

At this point, I am sure that the info that I have provided to you is good enough to appreciate the nuances and the corners that the game has to offer., yet, the other thing that remains is the Radio operations which both the Japanese and American soldier is equipped with. I’ll cover this a bit later, Thank you very much for going through this blog,

I'll be seeing you later ,,,,
